Artist's Comments

Those who know me also know about the addiction I've lately developed with the Poupee Girl game ([link]).
You get dress-up items for your doll avatar in return for uploading photos of your real-life fashion items. You also get the site's 'currency' when you upload the pictures and when people comment on them - so you can then 'buy' even more pretty dresses for your virtual doll! ^___^

It's important, then, that the photos are pretty, so they will attract a lot of commenters, and generate more 'income' for the doll! :D

I'm a very poor photographer, but I realized I'd love to set up the pictures so that my objects are more able to tell the viewers their story, so to speak. This is the first of my modest efforts in that direction.

So, here is my pirate-lolita hat! Actually, a perfectly normal men's wear fedora that I turned into a tricorne of sorts, embellishing it with lace and a coin-like button.

The books in the picture come from my collection, and they are:
- Quo Vadis by Henryk Sienkiewicz, an old French edition, with engravings
- Dichtung und Wahrheit by Goethe, in the original German, with Gothic typeface,
- and a volume of Dramas by Schiller, same as above.
